Starting from the very beginning. Again.
This is a story about a man named, Jed…
Wait.
No, it isn’t.
(I hope a few of you laughed at that.)
In reality, this is a story about a man named, Rick.
Rick, being me.
You may be wondering why I’m starting at the very beginning. Again. I was too, but then I figured it has been so long, why not.
Let’s go back to the beginning of my writing story. The reason I began writing.
In April of 2013 I was fired from a job I loved. One afternoon, out of the blue, I was let go.
I was devasted.
I thought my life was over and I didn’t know what was going to happen.
That lasted about a minute. Well, maybe two days.
And then I realized God had placed his considerable foot firmly on my behind and SHOVED me out the door.
I was still in shock, but I understood there was a purpose.
Six years down the road from that day, and I’ve seen a glimpse of that purpose, and I look forward to stepping into it each day.
What is that purpose?
Simple.
Listening intently for God’s voice and follow his lead.
If you’re up for it, follow along as I share more of this incredible journey.
Until next time… Dream Big. Pray Hard. Think Long.
(It’s been so long since I’ve worked on this it is obvious I need to update the site. Stay tuned.)
Great post and I’ll definitely come along on the ride. Thank you for sharing.
It must be the time of new beginnings! I just posted something similar. Let’s start over together, shall we?
God has different ways of telling people that he has a different purpose for them. I can relate to your thought of God telling you in not such a gentle and considerate way.
For me it was near the end of my 36 year career as an educator. I was hit broadside by a driver. Been dealing with living with a brain injury since that day. Still trying to figure what my repurposed live should look like. I’ve seen hints but now loud and clear message.
