Today is a National Holiday. It may not be noted on your calendar, but I assure you, today most certainly is a National Holiday.

Major League Baseball returns in full swing today. There is no better way to begin the new season than listening to the legendary Ernie Harwell, the Voice of the Detroit Tigers.

At 1:08pm EDT this afternoon, Justin Verlander will throw the 1st pitch of the season for my Detroit Tigers. Yes. My Detroit Tigers. Kansas City Royals Right Fielder, Nori Aoki, will take his place in the batter’s box, Justin will stare in for the sign from Catcher Alex Avila.

The 1st pitch will be thrown, and 7 months of excitement will be underway.
